Sherry Farrell Racette is a Canadian feminist scholar, author and artist of Timiskaming First Nation and Irish descent. She is best known for her contributions to indigenous art histories, specifically Canadian art history. Racette is a professor in the Departments of Native Studies and Women and Gender Studies at the University of Manitoba. Born in Manitoba, she is a member of the Timiskaming First Nation of Métis ancestry. She was a teacher at Concordia University in 2007 when she was living in Montreal. She did her graduate work at the Regina University in Education. She completed her PhD in Native Studies, Anthropology, and History at the University of Manitoba. == Research Interests == First Nations and Métis women's history (and art history). Fist Nations and Métis work and educational history. Indigenous knowledge and pedagogy. Contemporary First Nations art, photography, museum collections. First Nations and Métis traditional arts. Issues of representation and self-representation. she likes to drift through the Hudson's Bay Company Archives or any thing that matter.
